info@intisumberbajasakti.comConcrete floors in garages or project areas are often the victims of oil spills, right? If left alone, not only will they become slippery, but they can also leave stubborn stains and make the floor look dull. Don't worry, you don't need to panic—there are easy ways to clean oil on concrete floors, even using materials found at home!
1. Absorb Wet Oil Immediately
The quicker you act, the less likely the stain will stick!
Sprinkle absorbent materials such as:
Cement powder
Dry sand
Corn flour or wheat flour
Let stand for 15–30 minutes, then sweep clean.
2. Use Baking Soda or Powdered Detergent
Sprinkle baking soda or powdered detergent onto the spilled area. Add a little water until it forms a paste.
Scrub with a wire brush or floor brush. Let stand for 10–15 minutes then rinse with clean water.
3. Try Using Degreaser
If the stain is stubborn, you can use a special degreaser. This is a chemical that is designed to fight oil and grease stains.
Tip: Always wear gloves and a mask when using chemicals!
4. Use Hot Water + Dishwashing Soap
Another economical way: rinse with hot water and scrub with dishwashing soap. This method is quite effective if done several times.
5. Finish with Clean Water
After all the processes above, make sure you rinse thoroughly so that it is not slippery and the floor is safe to use again.
Important!
Do not use gasoline or thinner to clean oil - it is dangerous and can damage the floor surface!
