To prevent this from happening, consider these tips for installing smooth wire to ensure it remains taut and durable over the long term.

1. Use Sturdy Support Posts
The main posts (usually at the ends and corners of the fence) must be strong and deeply embedded in the ground. It's best to use iron or concrete posts with a minimum depth of 60–80 cm, depending on the soil conditions. These posts will withstand the tension of the wire.

2. Install a Wire Tensioner
To ensure the smooth wire can be pulled to its maximum and maintain its tension, use a wire tensioner (tensioner or turnbuckle). This tool can be installed at each end of the wire and is very helpful in maintaining stable tension over time.

3. Use Quality Wire
Ensure the smooth wire used has the appropriate diameter and has been galvanized to prevent rust. Thin, rust-prone wire will loosen more quickly and become brittle when exposed to the weather.

4. Pay Attention to the Distance Between Posts

5. Test After Installation

6. Regular Maintenance
Although it may seem simple, wire fencing still requires maintenance. Conduct regular inspections, especially after the rainy season or strong winds. If you find any loose spots, re-tighten them immediately before they spread to other points.
